Lloyd's Bank Ppi Awarded but not paid

Hi, this is my first post
Back in 2015 my health deteriorated and I was unable to to pay my debt to Lloyd's bank, after writing to the bank and explaining my situation they agreed to write off the debt and close the account. A couple of years later I enquired about ppi mis selling and was awarded over £1000 but was told that they would not be paying me it back and said that they would be offset against the account which was written off and closed around 2 years prior.
Can anyone help me
Thank you

Yes you are.  To get it you will need to repay the debt you failed to repay previously. Once you pay them the full amount, they will refund you the PPI.

The right of offset has clearly been used by the Bank here.

When they agreed to write off your old debt, that meant they agreed not to chase you for it any more. However, that does not mean the debt no longer existed.

When you complained about mis-sold PPI they will have simply upheld your complaint regardless of it's validity  knowing full well no money  was ever coming to you.

At least you have the satisfaction of knowing that at least some of the debt you reneged on  has now been paid.
