Needed? Depends on what you're planning to use and whether it requires it to be able to function. Generally no you don't.0

I used to use VLC player but changed to SMPlayer mainly because it remembers the point of where you last played a video.
I know Domestos kills 99% of germs, but I'm worried about the 1% that got away.0 -
I just noticed that it has censored the blu ray player I use. Why on earth would it do that?
its Le-a-wo but without the hyphens.
Is that that a swear word in a foreign language or something?0 -
Windows Live Mail works fine with Windows 10. IIRC it did not work with a beta pre-release of windows-10 but I have had no problems at all having used it since WIndows-10 first came out.

I've recently come across Krita, and so far am rather impressed.Cornucopia said:For picture editing, Paint.Net. I like that it's more than MS Paint, but not as technical as Photoshop.

It's not needed. You will find that some websites are behind the times and still require it. It has generally been seen as a security risk, so unless the website/app you use requires it, Its not a needed application to have.JustAnotherSaver said:Is Java needed on a Windows 10 machine?I read that it isn't, yet i'm sure i've been on sites that are telling me to update Java in recent months.0 -
So it's not needed unless you want to use all the websites that you might want to use...?dan958 said:

That is the way things generally work, yes. In the same way that having a video editing program is not needed unless you want to edit videos.bowlhead99 said:

Majority of websites will not require Java (only 0.02% websites still use it from recent reports)
So unless you have an app that needs java, or a website that needs java - there is no point installing java.0 -

You may have issues should you need to reinstall it..0
