Lender use their own scoring. The only external credit information they care about is your credit history (not missing any payments) the score you see is a fictional figure made up. Often used as well to offer people loans/credit where clearscore in this case get a kickback for you taking it up.MPescatore said:
The monthly Clearscore report I receive clearly states that the rating is higher than (an) average. It's a metric they highlight. How that information is used by lenders I'm not privy to, sure, but that was the basis for the claim.
Anyway, thanks again - was just curious...
Great the way these credit score companies make themselves feel valued and a necessity if you are looking for credit.Life in the slow lane0 -
Yet time and again you see posts on here along the lines of "I got declined for X but I have an excellent score" often giving the actual score like some badge of honour.D3xt3r5L4b said:
Lenders don't see or use that number or rating though - so it's entirely pointless referring to it or using it to judge yourself.MPescatore said:Thanks everyone.
Note to D3xt3r5L4b re:'Oh and you’re credit rating isn’t “higher than average” since you don’t know each lenders lending criteria, so you cannot possibly “rate yourself”.'The monthly Clearscore report I receive clearly states that the rating is higher than (an) average. It's a metric they highlight. How that information is used by lenders I'm not privy to, sure, but that was the basis for the claim.

@MPescatore look beyond the score to what is on the actual report. Either way unless you are pre-approved then some at 95% acceptance will get refused (otherwise it would be 100%)0 -
Yep, thanks again all.
