    Finally an update. After speaking to RBS directly, they said they would look again at my complaint. Having asked advice on here, I also made contact with the Ombudsman service who were most helpful despite working from home.

    Not unsurprisingly, RBS have diligently ignored me and in fact sent the ombudsman incorrect information that my complaint had been settled in full. Having pointed the appointed Adjudicator in the right direction (namely the paperwork copies I had already sent them, and were obviously missed) I received another email from them saying they would look again.

    To my relief, I received another email from the ombudsman stating that I would be receiving an offer after all from RBS. No figure was mentioned, but I estimate it to be worth about £6750. Very happy with the result, and once again demonstrates the usefulness of forums such as this, and the good advice contained within. Many thanks to those of you above who helped or encouraged. Good result, eventually 👍
