Scammed by groupon?

I recently bought a garden chair swing from groupon , i payed with paypal / credit card linked , 4 weeks go by without an update and delivery i logged into my groupon account to find out that the order is still under the accepted tab ,  i contacted groupon to find out what was happening with my order and the reply i got

I'm so sorry for our failure to deliver and for the confusion this has caused.

We had to cancel your shipment—situations like this are often the result of an unexpected inventory shortage or a loss of inventory in transit. When we discover a lack of inventory, we work with our vendors to try to make up for the shortage and ship your item as promised. We're often successful, but I'm afraid we weren't able to acquire more inventory in a timely fashion this time.

Given the circumstances that led to your request, I am happy to process a full refund of £140 in Groupon credits. Groupon credits are simple to use, and are valid for a whole year for you to use towards almost any purchase on www.groupon.co.uk. We often run our more popular deals more than once, so hopefully a similar deal to this one will come up soon.

If you’d like me to go ahead and apply the credit, just let me know by replying to this email.

The Groupon Credits can be used for a full 12 months toward almost any purchase on our site, so if you don't want to spend your credits right now, you'll have some time to find another deal that works for you. We are also working with our Local merchants to launch offerings extend validity on vouchers wherever possible.

    I'm presuming like the numerous other threads on here about Groupon/Wowcher, that you purchased credits to exchange it for the chair. As such, you are entitled to be put back in the same position that you was - ie with credits.

    In which case there would be no use in going through your bank. You would need to raise a dispute with Paypal. Do you happen to have a link to the item?

  • They have removed the page with the item , i have submitted a dispute with paypal , thanks for the reply's guys i will let you know how i get on.
