Why is Nationwide BS still issuing cheques to customers who do not have a Nationwide current Account. Surely they have had sufficient time to change their processes and credit customer current accounts direct, thus avoiding unnecessary movement of paper and people during this difficult period of Covid.

Agree with you there. I get the impression that banks don't like cheques anymore and have been actively encouraging us not to use them. DVLA sends car tax refunds by cheque as well.0
