Maintaining Warranty and Repairs under warranty

Due to the CV19 lockdown I have been unable to obtain my annual service. I contacted the manufacturer and they have eased the terms and continued the warranty assuming the service will be carried out at the first available opportunity.
The issue I now have is that I require a repair carried out which is under warranty and all dealerships in Scotland are closed for at least until beginning June.
I would ask if I get the repair carried out at an independent garage how would this affect the warranty and how do I avoid the costs

As long as you use a VAT registered garage and it uses original parts and carries the job out to the manufacturer's schedule you should be OK, that's certainly the case for maintaining a warranty if you use a non-dealer garage for servicing.

But that's quite a different scenario. The OP needs to contact the manufacturer again.MinuteNoodles said:As long as you use a VAT registered garage and it uses original parts and carries the job out to the manufacturer's schedule you should be OK, that's certainly the case for maintaining a warranty if you use a non-dealer garage for servicing.

Good news: One manufacturer has officially extended service intervals and warranties to cover the lockdown period.
Bad news: It's Aston Martin...
