Capital Bank Default on Credit Report

I am hoping someone can help me please. I updated my details on my Experian Report and instantly my credit rating went from 900 to 500 on the back of a default of a loan from Capital Bank. I tried goggle to contact them as I have never had a debt or any dealing with Capital Bank. Didn't get anywhere, so got Experian to investigate and they reverted with a number which goes through to Lloyds Bank. Except Lloyds Bank are swearing black and blue that they have nothing to do with Capital Bank and I should revert to Experian ( who by the way are lost as to what to do next). I am now left in Limbo because whoever Experian contacted, wouldn't provide any details except a number for me to call, and when I call, they cant help me and refer me back to Experian. In the meantime I have a default mark with no option to try and resolve. Any advice is gratefully received.

Capital Bank have a lot of shell companies registered on the FCA website, the majority of which are no longer authorised or have had permision to trade withdrawn, the main name still operationg is Capital One Europe PLC.Now in the past Capital Bank have provided credit cards, car loans, bank accounts etc, is any of this ringing any bells ?Making a complaint to the credit reference agencies is pointless, they only list information that`s provided to them, you need to complain to the creditor directly, this may involve some detective work, but i suggest you start here ;Contact NameEmma WardleAddress: Trent House Station Street Nottingham Nottinghamshire NG2 3HX UNITED KINGDOM Email: complaintsresolutionuk@capitalone.com

I believe they also played a big part in financing Buy Now, Pay Later goods for retailers such as Currys/Comet etc. Maybe you had something like that in the past?1

Thank you. I am quite cautious about my credit applications and profile, so tend not to go for anything i cant afford reasonably in the worst case scenario. I was out of the country for a few years so ensured i cleared all my debt bar two credit cards which i still have and use. nothing with Currys / Comet etc in the past, do not drive so not a car loan, only ever had 2 credit cards which i still use. I will try contacting the creditor although i keep being told that Capital one and Capital bank are not related. Is there anyway to complain to the FCA to get someone / anyone to point me in the right direction?0

Maybe you will have to give Experian a call and explain what has happened and look for some further guidance?
