cracked ridge tile

I had a couple of silpped tiles replaced today and while up there he spotted this crack. Best way to fix? If he removes /replaces the whole tile, those on either side might get damaged and so on. Can the crack be filled and if so with what? Or covered eg lead?

Lead will need something to attach to, so that is out. Could use a self adhesive flashing strip - A bodge that will last a few months. Squirting mastic (silicone sealant) in would also be a temporary, all be it another bodge fix.

It should be possible to remove the ridge tile without damaging any others - It already has a good size crack in it where a thin wedge could be drive in. A grinder will take care of the mortar joints either end. With a little care, it should be possible to remove both the tile and some of the mortar underneath and do a proper repair.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

I don't see a competent roofer causing further damage whilst removing and replacing that ridge tile. If you don;t replace it the likelihood is the tile breaking in two and rolling down the roof, possibly causing more damage as it crashes to the ground.

CT10 or a similar polymer adhesive in the crack, then fibreglass matting across the join.
It's been working on my van for a couple of years now! B)
