Even if the bbq hadn't arrived damage you should not be lighting a bbq of any sort right now. The smoke and fumes (even from gas ones) can exasperate lung and chest conditions of people who are self isolating with symptoms leading them to need hospital care and being out in a respirator so your £80 would never have been spent at the butchers unless you were going to go against guidelines and purposely put other people's lives at risk just so you could cook some meat.
I know not all councils are taking a strong stance on bbqs being lit but my local one and several others around the country are and there have been police in attendance and warning issued by the councils, same as with people having garden fires. Some see it as a waste of time and resources but others see it as needed enforcement because people are still not taking this lockdown seriously enough.1 -

However, they are certainly generally discouraged at the present moment and definitely banned when they are a large social gathering including people from outside the household. There is also the issue of air pollution and, again while not illegal, barbecues can be just as harmful to air quality as bonfires burning rubbish. It's basically just an issue of common courtesy to neighbours who could well be suffering the breathing difficulty associated with Covid19....2

We do have a ban on bonfires. But BBQ's are allowed.

After many hours of trying, the online live chat worked.
The Range offered a reduction or a refund and collection.
I'd love to have been able to consider the reduction, however the damage is of such that part is not usable.
They could not offer a replacement, despite website still showing stock.
Thanks for the info, should our efforts have continued to be fruitless.
