I was 15 when I got my 1st job. working for a commercial coach building company.(building lorries basically). .50p per hour. interesting work. it involved welding riveting carpentry electrics,all sorts really. that went bust in the 80s as did quite a few companies. had several jobs since then.0

Paper round age 13.
Job in a bakery age 15.
First full time job at 16 after I quit my A levels was a NVQ scheme for about £40 week in a shop. I did these until I was 18 and had the sense to go to college. In hindsight these NVQ schemes back in the 90s were a joke, cheap labour for employers who didn’t care about my training.0 -
