Refund on a cancelled Debit Card

Hi everyone, and I hope this question is in the right place - I'm new at this sort of thing.
I bank with N26, and a few months ago had a case of fraud which resulted in my Debit Card being cancelled and a new one was issued in the meantime.
During this COVID-19 crisis, I have been in the process of getting some refunds, especially for some flights I booked in the past (on the original, cancelled debit card). The US airlines have agreed to refund, but of course must refund on the original payment by law. When I got in contact with N26, they told me just to give the airlines my updated banking details (which they will not accept).
Can I still be refunded on my original debit card details? I understand that it is still linked to my account, but I'm worried that N26 will reject the refund, and they aren't being very helpful on helping me out. Any advice? Any people had similar experiences?
Thanks, and if I should post somewhere else I'm happy to do so.

They will go to your old card which means that they hit a internal account. That is then moved to your current account.
Once it's sorted I would look for a new bank. N26 will/should know that any refunds have to go back to the card that they were paid on... Something to do with Money laundering... A bank that does not understand that is not going to last long...Life in the slow lane1 -
N26 are withdrawing from the UK market anyway, aren't they?born_again said:They will go to your old card which means that they hit a internal account. That is then moved to your current account.

Correct - they have. I'm actually a UK citizen temporarily in Germany hence am using a German Fintech for these few months I am here. But agree, not great when a bank doesn't understand it. Thank you both for your help.colsten said:
