Credit card purchase refund

I believe that if a debit card expenditure is refunded under the “chargeback” scheme the debit card provider (usually a bank) reclaims from the retailers bank. Does something similar apply to credit card providers if a refund is made under the section 75 consumer credit act I.e. does the provider have recourse to claim from the retailer or is it just a cost they have to bear

They may choose to do either.1

In both circumstances the bank will attempt to recover any chargebacks or S75 from the retailers if financially prudent to do so.0
