I agree much of the most recent conversation on this thread would be better conducted on the "Praise, Vents and Warnings" boardshaun_from_Africa said:

The issue was addressed on page one of this thread and the OP has already acknowledged the suggestion that the manufacturer be approached to provide a new set of decals. All conversation since that time has been largely redundant therefore..Mickey666 said:
Ah, my apologies. I didn’t realise the forum was populated by pedants who’d rather nit-pick than address the issue.4 -
No one said they're unimportant - but they are better suited to the praise/vent/warnings board than the consumer rights board.Mickey666 said:You’re all bonkers and deserve to be palmed off with poor quality products. Since when did ‘consumer wants’ cease to be important?
If the manufacturer advertised that its decals would likely wear off within two years then that would be fair enough. I wonder why they don’t? I’d guess probably because consumers would then avoid their products. Out of all those on here supporting the manufacturer, who would buy a hob if you were told the decals would likely wear off within two years? Or would be equally supportive if the decals on your TV remote controller all wore off within two years? Or countless other examples? Exactly.Sure, ‘ranting’ (your word, not mine) on social media would not help the OP but it might help future consumers Make better informed buying decisions and it might help pressurise the manufacturer into improving their product quality. It’s not as it’s an impossible problem to solve is it?
You’re all defending the indefensible.
Btw, the people visiting a company's social media are usually existing customers to complain about or query a purchase they have already made. So it will make for a good echo chamber, but probably won't warn many (if any) off.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
So when are you planning to address the issue and stop picking fault with our posts?Mickey666 said:

I feel that needed quoting ... we've still not heard from the OP. We are NOT defending the manufacturer/seller - we're merely explaining what the law says.DoaM said:It certainly doesn't mean it's not "fit for purpose" ... it still works as a hob. It may mean it's not of suitable quality taking into account the price paid, but until the OP says what it is and how much it cost we can only guess.0 -
Chances are the cooker was made in some far off land and badged...I very much doubt decals would be forthcoming or available and for the sake of £3 wouldn't even bother asking.

I can only assume it must be a cheap hob, our Neff gas hob is ten years old and the decals are as good as new.1
