Retiredin2009….. you are lucky getting the refund so quick we were booked to cruise with Fred Olsen on the 16th April and still waiting for the refund, the strange thing is that we got refunded for our tours we booked which we paid for some time after the cruise but not the actual cruise refund yet. When you had it refunded back onto your credit card, did you then get your credit card to refund the credit back to your bank account and if so how easy was that?

Good on Fred Olsen, I got my cruise payment back onto my credit card.
And my cruise wasn't till the 6th May.

You are very fortunate. Our cruise with FOC was scheduled to depart 29th March & return 17th April. They cancelled it on 13th March & I requested refund 21st March. We would probably have let payment carry forward, except our travel insurance won't cover bookings made after 18th March.
9th April we had a missed call from FOC asking for bank details as husband's card used to pay deposit (in Feb 2018) had expired, and to ring them back. Also received email cancellation invoice. That was the only time we'd left the house for 10 days, to get essential food. Needless to say they were closed all over Easter so 1st chance I had to return call was Tuesday 14th, to be greeted by recorded message saying phone lines closed for 2 weeks so they could concentrate on refunds!
Emailed them 14th April with new expiry date for relevant card & alternative bank details for refund. Nothing heard, not even acknowledgement to email.
What is annoying is that the bulk of the payment (over £5k) was made on my credit card, which is still in date but they have made no repayment to that card. I'm hoping they reopen phone lines on Monday.0 -

I am going for the record waiting time .19 weeks after cash back request. FOC phoned this morning to say money to be in bank in a couple of days. It is funny that I asked Nationwide CC two days ago, to do their thing and recover the money.
