  • Novice here, I have an ADSL connection and BT home hub.  If I buy the Tenda Nova mesh do I also need to buy an ADSL modem?  Any suggestions of a suitable one? I understand the you can't turn off the BT home hub  router?.  I also have plusnet, is that going to make the process harder?  Many thanks.

"do I also need to buy an ADSL modem?"  - NO

"I also have plusnet, is that going to make the process harder?" - NO - should have no bearing on matter at all

just plug the Tenda into one of the ports on the home hub - using the default setting of the Tenda will create a 2nd Wi-fi Network in addition to the one provided by your Homehub/router  - Then change your wireless devices to connect to whatever the new wi-fi network is ( you get to name it in the Tenda setup process)

For most people that will be fine, but if you have some existing devices still connected to the homehub/router, they will be inaccessible from the devices connected to the Tenda network and visa versa - since on 2 different networks  - Subnet ?
eg: My original router network was 192.168.0.xxx - the normal Tenda network was 192.168.5.xxx
You can get over that by changing the the Tenda network to work in bridge mode  ( so it will then be on 192.168.0.xxx too) -- but then you will lose the parental controls/ guest network settings in the Tenda - and have to rely on the setting in the homehub/router to provide those elements if reqd

That was my experience anyway ...
