in Credit cards
Hi
Appreciate it is late - I just want to check when a credit card company decides to reduce your credit limit, I don't mind them doing this so much but surely this has to be in writing and with some advance notice?
Last statement produced on 22/03/2020 showed an available to spend £4,950 with their new logo etc I paid the minimum payment on time and believed I was back on track. No other mail has come from them at all since until yesterday afternoon after 3pm I received an email (oddly with their old logo the blue water splash) stating my limit is £3,900 with the desire to stick on £12 charges as I would be closer to this figure then the March quoted £4,950 - I have literally received no other email or letter until yesterday.
I was talked into a 1 month holiday payment by an Essex sounding call centre answering for them in back in February (certainly not Leeds where they indicate is their 'complaints in writing' address) who seemed to tell me different things to what any of their correspondence ever comes through with.

Limits are often cut without notice where it's felt the customer would otherwise immediately run up the balance. It's a fairer alternative to just cancelling the account.
You'll have misread the part about a 'desire' to charge £12 fees.2 -
Thanks for responding, never felt I had a problem with Aqua until now. I did phone today and it is just unfortunate they chose to send the email notification they did when the Advisor said I'm a good couple of hundred away from the new limit anyhow with them even deciding to lower it, it does seem wrong to cause unnecessary panic especially at this time and when you want to send communication with your old logo which is rather odd then of course I've no idea if it an attempt to scam.
I have a letter coming to me apparently that was raised on the 21st April to confirm their decision to decrease, it's just sounding regrettable the email landed first.

Aqua are known for slashing limits, you should be thankful it's only by a grand (I'm being serious, there's a thread on here of lots of people getting cut).
Mine went from £2k to £400! I'm only still using it as it's the only cashback option I have until I can get an Amex in a few months!0
