Chargeback, Section 75 or something else?

Description:I paid for my annual gym membership about £1200 for the year in Feb. The price did not include Feb and March whch were 'free'. My gym has closed indefinietly since lockdown and they have sent an email saying they will refund annual memberships when they reopen. I have not been able to reach them to speak about it. I would like to get my money back soon as I desperately need it. Also, I have no idea when and if they will reopen and chances are that if they do, they will have to provide a different kind of service (due to social distancing) or may go out of business. What are my options? Do I go for chargeback or Section 75 or something else?

At the moment there is nothing you can do. If they do go bust then that changes things.

If Coronavirus had not happened you would have paid for the membership and used the facilities.
We are now in the middle of a lockdown and the truth is you will have to wait - the fact that they have agreed to refund when they have re-opened would be used against you if you tried a chargeback.
Most gym's I know of have always had distances between apparatus etc - the only part that might be a pain is if they have a swimming pool.
