Requested S75, got chargeback

I'm one of the many people affected by the Ryanair flight cancellations due to the pandemic. After not getting a cash refund from them I raised a section 75 with my bank. They have replied saying they are processing it as a chargeback claim. 
The bank have said this does not void the rights I'm entitled to under section 75 and will allow a timlier response.

Is this reasonable for the bank to do or should I insist on section 75?

Yes, it's reasonable, and likely to be in your interest as it's typically quicker, as they've said.

Look at it this way.
Chargeback, refund in a couple of days. Retailer 45 days (bank may say longer at the moment, due to staff levels)
S75 refund, who knows how long. And there is not as such a breech of contract as they are refunding. So S75 could be declined.

In fact I'm surprised they have done a chargeback. As Ryanair would be within their rights to reject on the grounds that they are refunding. Same as the S75 argument.

Let the bank do it their way. They are the experts. 
S75 gets banded around too much when it is not needed.
