Garage won't release car

My car was being repaired by a Main Dealer when they suddenly closed mid March due to Virus lockdown . Workshop is closed  and car remains stuck inside it . Customer Services tell me there's nothing that can be done and I will just have to wait .Could be months .  Also problems arise having a car static - laid up - without proper preparation beforehand . What can I do ?

    Ask nicely or wait.
Is the car in a ready to collect state, or was it mid repair? In the garage itself or in a yard?

There won't be any problems with a car being laid up.  It might need a jump start but that'll be it. Stop making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Thank you for that . They didn't start repair because they were waiting for a part from Germany and while waiting the lockdown came into force . I have established car is under roof . I have been polite and was ok about the delay up till now but we all suspect  this lockdown  may go on for many more weeks . I am just concerned chiefly with deterioration on tyres , fuel , brakes and battery etc . with car being static .Strangely enough , many of their other premises are open except those in my area

Most likely problem is that the battery could go flat. But it's in a dealer's workshop, I think you can be pretty sure they'll find a way to start it.

How about all the thousands of other cars on garage forecourts that remain unsold.  How do you think they will fair?

Your car will be fine especially if it’s under cover I regularly leave one of mine for 6 plus months and do nothing in preparation (mainly because I never intend to not use it but then end up not using it). I charge the battery (or jump it) off I go check the tyre pressures.

It’ll be fine. They’ll get it ready for you when they are allowed to open. I guess as it’s off road you could SORN it but I wouldn’t bother.

What do you think happens to the cars sitting in the showroom for months on end. Your car will be absolutely fine.
