Misdelivered (to me) Package by Hermes

I've  just received a package from Hermes. It's for someone else. The real house is not that far away, and normally I'd just deliver it. But, in the current situation, I'm hesitant to  do so by just going over  and knocking on a door.
My question is: how do I contact Hermes to report the misdelivery? I tried  contacting them online, but they 'can't help me' because I don't have a tracking number.
I found someone on Facebook who might be the recipient and pinged them. if they reply I'll arrange a non-contact transfer. But, as this is my local Hermes delivery agent, I would prefer to report  the mis-delivery so that the feedback gets back and she is more careful in future. The package is very clearly addressed.

It's unlikely they will be interested in your feedback, to be honest.

If you want them to take notice, you could refuse to release the package to the intended recipient without authorisation from Hermes, forcing them to raise the matter to whoever they bought it from, forcing them in turn to raise the matter with Hermes (who they actually have a contract with), who may then get in touch with the delivery agent, and if you're lucky they will come and knock on your door to ask for the package back and maybe make a mental note to be more careful in future.

Hermes do take note, sometimes, if they get enough complaints. We used to have a terrible driver who would apparently try to deliver and say we were out when all 4 of us were at home, then when they actually did deliver the parcel the boxes were always bashed up. So we did complain, and we now have a much better driver who is much more reliable.

Delivering to the wrong address if a one-off is not much of a deal, but if they keep doing it and it's flagged up every time, Hermes might take action. I wouldn't rely on them to sort this occasion out though, as they are currently struggling anyway under the present circumstances.

Thanks all. After a couple of days of trying to contact Hermes, I took it over to the house and someone was in. (Non-contact transfer guidelines adhered to.) Then when I went further up the road I found the Hermes delivery person was up there, and I informed them of the mis-delivery and that I had delivered the item. They thanked me.
I will say that having an item marked as delivered, but not delivered to me is my worst fear when buying stuff online. Hence I wanted to get some feedback sent back - the same driver has delivered stuff (successfully to me.)

I'm rather concerned by these companies that are impossible to contact. And, I found no reasonable way of contacting Hermes on this topics.
  • I have had exactly the same issue, 2 parcels delivered one for me and one for someone in the next street. Contacted Hermes on twitter who told me to get in touch with the retailer, it's not my parcel so unless I open it I don't know where it's from, Hermes just totally ignored me after that. Emailed Hermes and it took 2 days to get a reply, they will send a courier to collect it, meanwhile I've had this parcel nearly 10 days. It's only in the next street but I haven't been out unless I have to. I will probably end up taking it myself, it's like they just really don't care.

I've yet to receive a parcel sent via Hermes that didn't have the tracking number (numbers by the barcode) on the address label. Wouldn't that have worked?

Well if you dont care bin it,open it or do what you like.
Is 2 days a long time for a reply from a budget courier at a time of massive parcel traffic increase and high staff sick levels?

I didn't say I didn't care, try reading it properly.
Yes I think 2 days is a long time.
Anyhow I took the parcel myself.
