Octopus Energy Complaint Advice

NewbieJD said:I'm going to hazard a guess and say that the OP is only referring to electricity, as my issue seems to only revolve around a massive price hike for just that. Strangely enough, gas is £2 odd in credit, doesn't make up for the £300 in arrears.Except that the 4 vs 5 digit meter stuff is a gas problem... but anyway, the OP is not responding and you are (although your own thread would have been better) ... so, tell us more...Since your problem is purely electricity, the answer to the reason for the debt will be in the meter readings and previous billing. If your Engie was fully up to date just check that the last meter reading there was an actual reading not an estimate. Then look at your first Octopus bill and make sure that used the closing reading on the Engie bill as its opening reading and work forward from there. If the correct tariff is being used and your DD payments are all being credited properly it shouldn't be too hard to work out where the gap has opened up, possible an estimated reading somewhere?
