Cheapest way from London to Harlow on Saturday!

Hi guys

I'm fairly new to London. I need to get to 27-29 Broad Walk Harlow Essex England, CM20 1JF tomorrow midday (Saturday, so hopfully offpeak prices) and return the same day.

What options do I have? Buses? Underground? Overground?

Which train networks operate this route?

What is the cheapest ticket - is there a discount for travelling in the weekend? And for purchasing a return?

Thank you

A cheap day return by train from Liverpool Street will be your best and only sensible option. Assuming Harlow Town, £9 return, only 10p more than a single.

The alternative is to get the Underground to Epping and get a bus from there - no idea on cost

I don't know Harlow. Is Harlow inside Essex?

Anyone know if Dorthy Perkins is in Harlow Town?

Stefejb, the link returns errors after I perform a search, sadly!

And TFL doesn't recogonise the postcode I'm putting in. Arrggh!!

    Thomask,
    use this link ===>>> http://www.transportdirect.info

its the same as quoted above by stefejb and works for me.
Enter your starting and ending post codes for some choices of routes.

Btw, the postcode you quote is less than one mile from Harlow Town rail station, so I would get to Liverpool Street by tube, and get a train as suggested above by dzug.

Go to www.dorothyperkins.com and use the 'stores' button. Type 'harlow' in the box provided and a map showing their Harlow store and Harlow Town Station will appear.

    Thanks for your help guys!

    A couple more questions:

I've go to make the same trip next week (Saturday again).

    1. Would it be cheaper to pre-book my one railway ticket online?

    2. When I used the machine at Liverpool St Station to purchase a ticket, on the machine was written something about free travel within London if purchasing a ticket. Does this refer to travel on the tube? What did it mean?

    3. If I wanted to go from Harlow to Paddington station later that day, would it still be cheaper to purchase the Liverpool St -> Harlow RETURN ticket and then head to Paddington from Liverpool St?

Get an oyster card to use if your going to be making more than one trip.

At Epping station you need to get the big green H1 bus that goes to Harlow. your oyster card doesn't work on it (outside london)

    Heres the route:

Im not sure how much it is, someone told me £3.50 once  but i've never had the pleasure of getting to Harlow by bus.

    No it's the same price

Don't know - you need to be more specific

Yes - particularly with an Oyster card for the Underground bit

Whilst there are buses between Epping (end of Central Line) and Harlow, they are infrequent, especially on a Saturday (every 2 to 3 hours). I wouldn't call it a practical route.
