What is going on with Very?

Options
Very is falling apart, they don't answer phones, you can't get in touch with anyone at all.
Sent me a tumble dryer and I realised when I turmed it on that it is faulty. Won't let me return and say I will have to make any requested payments.
I've only had a response through Facebook and Twitter messaging and they seem to be scripted and the sites are full of disgruntled customers.
It seems like it is failing so badly that it will have to close.

    The tumble dryer, or Very?

When you say "won't let me return", what exactly do you mean?  That they've refused to let you return a faulty item or that they are unable to collect it at the moment?

    They will not collect
They send me through to a repair number who will not repair as it was faulty at purchase.
    Then I'm in a loop.
I've said it is faulty and ready for collection and I will not pay for it.
The very helper on facebook say I have to pay for it.
There is no manager, no complaints dept and the people who are very helpers on facebook cannot see accounts or do anything

If you stopping payments might cause further trouble, it's best to continue paying.

I'm sure it will get sorted once they are able to operate normally.

Was it take 3 or was it BNPL? If the latter, you should be able to start a section 75 claim with the creditor (the company that provide the finance) which will at least take care of having to make payments towards it.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Have you actually had the fault confirmed? Most companies won't just collect and refund a large appliance without first having proof of the fault. This is usually done by the manufacturer sending an engineer to test it.

Have you heard that there is a nasty virus Covid 19 doing the rounds?
We are supposed to stay at home unless you are a key worker....
Odds on Very do not really fit into key status. Or they are really suffering from a lack of staff.....

That seems to be a common misunderstanding. You're supposed to work from home if you can - there's no restriction on going to work if it's work which can't be done from home (assuming it isn't a job which is specifically prohibited at present).
