will corona kill my plans?

Hey there - I hope you all are well and healthy! I have a trip planned for later this year, late September into early Octpber. I’m planning to travel to England & France, from the US. What are we thinking? Should I start thinking of canceling this trip? Or still too early to panic? I’m not normally indecisive, but hoping for a consensus opinion to help make my decision. I really, really want to take this trip. Thanks for your help!

  • My personal opinion it won't happen.
I have written off my travel plans for at least a year.

  • Not sure about the France aspect of the trip but aren't passengers still landing in Heathrow even now?

Indeed.  Do you think we are a little slow off the mark to not have any screening or quarantine rules for those landing into our airports, often from CV19 hotspots?  It has baffled me that someone can fly in from NY, walk through the airport unchecked, get on to the London Underground or another form of public transport, and simply move around and interact with the population.

It may depend on the attitude of your own President that none of us can second guess. He has indicated he doesn't want UK citizens travelling to the US any time too soon and I suspect if that remains his attitude, and only a fool would try to imagine what he will say today let alone in three months time, he will not want US citizens returning from the UK either. I would have to say do not spend any more money on your plans until things become clearer.
