Hi everyone,  I have a static caravan at the coast. We opened it up on 19th March, went home on 22nd March then the site was closed on 23rd March. We have paid our site fees in full for this coming season  ( £2200) but where do we, and  the thousands of people in the same position as us, stand with regards to paying for something we cant use? Thanks

Same situation for us.   We seem to have no rights here.

Read your contract.  It will tell you what rights you agreed to.  If you agreed to pay them to store the caravan only, then they're doing that.

It's a government-imposed lockdown that is neither your fault nor that of the caravan site. What rights do you think you should have, other than those in your contract?

If you watched martins money program on tv this week a guy on there answered this question and said people should be due a refund of some of there fees as they are paying for something they can’t use .

You have to remember they're still storing it for you, and they still need to maintain utilities etc even if you're not there - so you won't get a full refund for the months you can't use.

I guess you'll get a partial refund, but expecting a full refund is unrealistic.

Sorry it wasn’t Martin Lewis show it was another program it was a question about caravan site fees and was answered by travel expert Simon Calder who said you should be able to claim a refund of some or all your fees because you are paying for something you aren’t getting.i suppose they may give a partial refund but keep some for the upkeep of the park good luck and hope you get to enjoy your caravan soon
