I spent around 3 days researching the stockmarket, terminology and how to go about investing.
I'm very new, but have made a small investment to test the waters - as a practice.
After my first 24 hours I made a small return of 38p. This money appears in my account alongside my original stock investment.
However, today was not as successul and looks like there has been a loss of around £15.
So, does my original stock price investment reduce by £15 with the 38p kept seperate, or is there just 1 whole amount constantly going up and down?
Thank you!

Are you investing for the long term, or day trading/gambling on short term price movements ?
It sounds like the latter and therefore pretty risky for a newbie.

3 days? hmmmm.

(start small, get hooked, start losing, throw good many after bad to try and get out of the hole, introduce gearing etc etc).
Day trading is not investing. It is more like gambling. Sensible investors do not day trade and newbies should be nowhere near day trading.
