Applying for a mortgage (should i cancel unused credit card?)

Hello,
I’m currently looking at applying for a mortgage and just seeing how i can improve my credit score, if at all possible. Over a year a go i got a Santander zero credit card for a world travelling trip (for emergencies). Over the year i didn’t actually end up using it, so I’m curious to know if this may effect my credit score? Would it be better to cancel the card before applying for a mortgage or keep it open?

Ignore the score.
As long as you have a few cards that you use regularly to maintain history, an extra card or two will make little difference.1 -
Keep it. Cancelling it would probably lower your made up score.
