Returned Boots - Lost in Post

Thanks for all your comments.  Yes, I understand I should have taken it to a Post Office now!  I just wish Royal Mail had made it clear what I was risking. I did query not getting a receipt at the time but the Royal Mail Staff said 'it all goes through the same system'.   I also realise now I should have read the returns policy before I returned the package.  I suppose I'll just have to put it down to experience and take the hit.  I find it odd that this item did not find it to the destination.  It must be somewhere?  Anyhow, many thanks for taking the time to respond.
