Paying course fees and coronavirus

Options
Daughter has to pay course fees for 2nd degree (meaning parents do).so no loan. Fee is for medicine but applies for anyone
How will this work if parent loses job or is furloughed because of COVID-19?
If unable to pay does this mean child loses place?
Thanks

As far as the university are  concerned it is your daughter who has to pay the fees, albeit that  the money is supplied by someone else
She should contact the  university she is attending for advice if she cannot pay the fees. They may have arrangements in place to help in the circumstances.
Ultimately, yes, she could be deregistered for non payment.
The fees will not be reduced.

I thought you can get funding for second degree in certain subjects such as medicine.

Students taking undergraduate standard entry medicine as a second degree cannot access any government tuition fee loans (though they can apply for maintenance funding). In the final year of their degree course, students on the standard programme are eligible for NHS bursaries to cover tuition.

You can find a full breakdown of the funding available on the Royal Benevolent Fund and British Medical Association websites.
