The DFW "Celebrate Christmas for free in 2008" Challenge

Hi there
I've just found this thread and it looks great. I really need to lock onto a challenge and wonder if I am too late to join you guys (i know I'll be a bit behind)
I had my LBM on 1/1/08 and spent the first month really trying to get my finances sorted and following the great advice I'd received. I then signed up for the daily clicks and have set my goal for any money raised from this to go towards xmas this year but have lost heart over the last week and not done much I'm afraid. If I can join this thread I am hoping it will put my motivation back into this and I can start putting something aside for xmas - it normally goes on the credit card and then adds to the debt and I need to change that for this year. Instead of just focusing on paying off debts it would be great to see myself saving towards a goal.0 -
Hi st1993
I'm sure chocoholic will say to join the challenge so I'll say welcome. Read some of the other posts and see how we are all managing to make our "free" money. Have you tried the Bingo? Pandapaws had written a good post on here about how to do the "free" sites
Good luck
Stressed xxHoping to stick to the challenge this year!!

LOL
No I know youre not showing off, i do think youre doing very well and i am pleased for you that youve managed to get such a good start so early on.
Im so mardy today LOL
I think whats up with me is that i know ive taken too much on, like i know we shouldnt have booked holiday, but then weve not used any credit at all to pay for it, like wise we wont be with spendo, and weve both been working REALLY hard lately so just feel like we need a break. so now i think im worrying that ill not get enough saved in time for cmas, which actually sounds quite daft- bearing in mind its actually FEBRUARY!

Noggin, I think the fact you've paid for your holiday is pretty fantastic and just think once the spending money's covered and you've been away you'll be all refreshed ready to crack on with the Christmas challenge.
st1993 - welcome and I'll add you to the front page. I will echo the good advice already given and will also advocate trying the bingo. I've made £140 and OH has made £60 so far (not that it's going towards the Christmas challenge though!)0 -
Thanks chocaholic for letting me join - I haven't tried bingo so will look at that. Thanks to stressed for your advice and welcome message.
Will get going and post with my signature to show how I am doing - have been doing my clicks tonight so at least i've got back into it.

Sounds like you need the holiday tho, hopefully it will recharge you batteries and give you the positive "glow" (which you must already have because you know it is paid for, not coming back to have the dreaded credit card statement!!!!!)
Where are you off to? Make me jealous now
If all else fails Mr T will provide me with a weeks holiday as I should have enough clubcard vouchers - or they will be used for day out tokens cos we want to go to Cadbury World and Alton Towers this year.
You're right it is only February, and your target for Christmas is much lower than mine, I'm looking for about £2k so you are more likely to achieve yours than me
