Morning everyone :) Please can I join? I have just posted my soa on the live on £4000 a year thread. Looking at it, the obvious cut seemed to be pressies. I have re-written my list for birthday and Christmas pressies and cut it from 39 to 15 people. This should be a huge saving in itself. Secondly I am aiming to win all pressies or exchange/sell wins to get suitable pressies.

First birthday pressie of the year is always my brother and have managed his from wins:

A large box of Lindt chocolates (his favourite) - came as part of a lindt hamper win
    A Highland park minature - a win
    A book - a win
    A calendar - a win

    ok so far :D

    Hi all,
I just thought I would update signiture to include this challenge. Already have £15 of Theatre Vouchers from Pigsback. Hope to add to these and pay for younger members of the family to go to pantomime as their Christmas present in 2008. Also have £10 High Street Voucher left from this year so will add this to my total. Not having much luck with servey sites, lightspeed is OK and i seem to get regular surveys from them, but always seem to get rejected from others. Have sold 2 books with Greenmetropolis so have £6 from this. This is very slow, so even though I have loads of books listed don't expext to make much.
My new years resolution is to 'declutter' my house - so hope to make some money with car boot sales and Ebay. Good luck everyone.

  • Hi Feef :) thats a great start you have made! :T welcome & good luck.
I bought all my xmas cards & wrap yesterday in the sales & they were giving away free xmas gift bags in Bitz so got a few of those :) Also got 3 pressies in Boots half price sale, I went to the 75% off sale last year but will be away when its on this year (15th Jan i think) We have crackers left from this year so will be putting them away & I've saved all the reusable wrapping & ribbons from this years pressies & will be turning the cards into gift tags too :)
Hope everyone had a lovely christmas.
  • Hiya,

I always try to recycle cards and make them into gift tags, I plan to do this again this year.

I nearly have enough to redeem £5 through Cashinco which will be added to the fund.

I have also entered some comps and plan to enter at least 5 a day every day from now on in the hope that I will something to put towards Christmas next year.

  • Please add me too. I'm very new here but have decided that this is the year I get myself sorted out. This sounds a good way to make a start though I've not got a clue what I'm doing :o Sure I'll work it out along the way!

Have finally started my journey to a free christmas.

I have emptied one of the drawers under my bed and this is now my Christmas drawer. Have put in all my left over wrapping paper and tags etc in there as I tend to forget what I have left and just buy more.

I have signed up to all the survey sites I have found so hoping to get a few vouchers as well.

Off to the shops today for my food shop and hoping to see a couple of bits in the sales to pop in my drawer.

Welcome NWLass, hope you get your bargains tomorrow!

I went to town yesterday and got a few bits and pieces, got 3 tops (various sizes) to put away for 3 different people for next year. All £1 each! So, for all of you with a Mark One near by, get yourselves down there and get rummaging!

Also, went in PoundLand and got some of those leg warmers, ok-technically not in sale, but only £1! so putting those away for Dh younger sister aswell.

Made a promise to myself not to spend full price on anything unless it's from PoundLand (dont want to be too tight do I!!) so everything I give as a gift next christmas will be either sale items or freebies!

    xx nog xx
