Yodel say item delivered, it was not, online supplier taking Yodel at word

Options
Short version:
Yodel system says item properly delivered, however item not with me and no card went through door.  Over a sequence of phone calls the driver eventually clame to the conclusion that they'd probaby put it on the pile for another delivery company, but that she had told the Yodel office.  Yodel site still tracks item as delivered and that's their official position.
Ebuyer's view is that item was delivered and handed to me, based on Yodel, so from their perspective it was a successful sale.

Item bought using Barclaycard, so in principle I should have protection, however they want documentation that the item did not arrive - how do I show the absence of a thing?
How can I proceed?

Ask the retailler to provide proof of delivery. It may not be a signature in the current climate, but it could be a photo of the parcel on the doorstep or even just a photo of your door.
