Tile grout in kitchen

Apologies for the silly question but tiling is not my forté. The previous owners redecorated the kitchen around 10 years ago. The grout is starting to fall away in some places. That's fine - I reckon some premixed tile grout would suffice. The question is about tiles behind the gas cooker. The back of the tiles is hidden by the filter hood and there's quite a large gap.

Is it better to try and regrout it again? Or should I use something else instead?

I would use a silicone sealant. The hood, being made of metal and only held up by a couple of screws, will move. Any grout you put in will crack and fall out eventually.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.
  • I will second that - silicone will do nicely. If you have any  grout falling off behind or around cooker get heat resistant silicone, if only by that filter hood bog standard silicone is enough
