I had a storage unit but due to drop in income due to covid-19 I had to give it up. I gave the appropriate notice (slightly more in fact) and moved out four days earlier than necessary. However they took the following month's payment (£141.20). Contacted the company who acknowledge I should be refunded, told it would be on 6th April and when I chased them up was told would be on 20 the April however still no refund.. Contacted the bank to try and get it back through the DD guarantee but was told that I cancelled DD through company and not bank that I could pretty much go whistle. What do I do now (rent due in two weeks and I kinda need that money back)?

It does not get you out of paying a due debt and it is not for use when the payment was collected correctly in accordance of the mandate.Contacted the company who acknowledge I should be refunded, told it would be on 6th April and when I chased them up was told would be on 20 the April however still no refund. You would think there is some virus going around that is stopping people going to work.Unfortunately, you need to wait but keep chasing the company.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
