I received a letter this morning from BW Legal on behalf of Total Parking Solutions, for an apparent debt of £124.
This is the first communication I have received from Total Parking Solutions or BW Legal. The letter has a client reference number but apart from that no details about what this is relating to. I tried to go onto the Total Parking Solutions website, used their reference and my car number plate but it brings no record.

I've attached a copy of the letter they sent.
What is the best thing to do in this case?

They are offering credit, are they registered to do so?

It is not a fine, it is an invoice from an ex-clamper to compensate them for the alleged harm they suffered when you did what you did. We call it a scam. Pay them not a penny unless a judge so orders it.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully, when life gets back to normal, it will become impossible for those scammers who are left to continue their vile trade, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

They are offering payment by instalments, is that not a form of credit?

    Who are TPS?

The PPC - Total Parking Solutions. It's all over the OP!

You are at pre-court stage like everyone else with that same daft letter...so the answer is to read loads of other BW Legal threads to learn from them, and email Tito, the owner at TPS, a 'SAR' using their data protection email.

This is nothing new, this is exactly as the SECOND post of the NEWBIES thread sticky pinned post, tells everyone to do and it tells you what a SAR is, how to word it and how to find that email address for any parking firm.

Please always refer to the NEWBIES thread first.  You will get a claim so you need to be prepared (yes I mean a court claim) and we win.  You will too.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
