Need help on returning my baby faulty cot during covid 19

Options
Hello,
I bought my daughter a new cot online from a company called 'precious little one'. It arrived in the first week of march and the box was damaged. On opening the box i found the cot was badly marked and damaged in lots of places. I contacted the company by phone and email to be messed about for weeks. During this time covid 19 lock down has hit and ive been so sympathetic with this company but this is in its 7th week now and im getting no where. They are saying 'tutti bambini ' the maker of the cot has to ok a refund and collection but they have only offered a £30 refund for me to keep the cot and have said they can not replace the parts of the cot due to covid 19.
I have explained my daughter is now nearly 8 months old and can not sleep in her moses basket no more i just want a new cot sending or a refund so i can buy another but both companies are only working via email and either take 3 days to reply or dont reply at all. What can i do to resolve this? Is there a legal route i can go down?
Really appreciate any help.
Thank you.

There is no quick way of solving this I'm afraid.  You'll have to buy or borrow another cot, new or used, because you need one now.  Then continue to sort the broken one.  Legal action is a waste of time at the moment, it will take many months to sort out.  If you paid by credit card that might provide another route but again, it may not be quick.

    ^^^^

As above.  Sort out a new cot and then take this up when the country gets back on its feet.

Have you sent the company photos?  That may help (doubtful though)
  • Yes ive sent photos, thank you for your replies
  • Another vote for buy another and continue to resolve this separately, this probably won't be resolved in a hurry.

Or even a cardboard box or drawer temporarily.  My parents had me sleeping in a blanket-lined draw for months until they could afford a cot.

Did your mother work at a leisure centre whose manager bore a striking resemblance to the actor Chris Barrie and was called Gordon Brittas?
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

The op says her baby is 8 months. I must admit i do find it difficult to believe that the babe is still able to sleep In a Moses basket.
