Mbna payment holiday

I have recently applied for a 3 month payment holiday from mbna and received a letter to say that was accepted. However I’ve just had an email to say my payment is overdue and I’ll be charged. I have tried to call them but  I get all the way through security to be told they can’t take my call today and it hangs up. Not sure what to do next.

Contact them via another method and monitor your account to see if you actually do get charged. It may be an automated letter.

I had the same today , I called them and was informed it is a system error. They have not been able to update their system to recognise a holiday payments. It therefore see's it as a late payment but there is no late payment on file.  I was told to ignore it by MBNA.

On the Lloyds website (MBNA being part of it) they do say that these texts are being sent in error and they are in the process of cancelling them. They say you will not be charged if you have been accepted for a payment holiday.
  • MBNA seem to have gone down the hill since Lloyds bought them. They removed their online chat, 2 way message system and email contact. Now you can only phone - usually busy and very time consuming OR and I still can't quite believe this, write.
Latest to beware of is the so called '3 month holiday'. It is not a holiday. You still have to pay interest as normal.
  • Did you expect the payment holiday to be 'free'? If that were the case I think 100% of us would have applied!
