Trade in phone value reduced by Samsung when returned their faulty device

If you exercise your right to cancel and return the new phone during the 28-day cooling-off period, we will endeavour to return your trade-in phone, but this cannot be guaranteed. In the event the old phone cannot be returned MTR will provide you with a cash equivalent price for the old phone based on the price currently payable for your old phone on the Samsung Recycle website

I seen that but if that is if you decide to return it   . If the goods are faulty then surely that cannot apply? I understand someone may buy a phone and return it because they don’t like it ? This would deter people doing this

I don’t have the dates to hand but it was in 30 days. May finally be getting some movement from Samsung after having to repeat the whole scenario over and over when getting transferred to the wrong people. We have been offered Samsung gift vouchers to bridge the value which if he was going to buy something Samsung would be great. Still pushing for cash will just have to see how it goes.
