Sliver / Pewter Cleaning - Hip-flask

Hi guys,
With all this time our on hands, I like to clean my Christening present from my Aunt and Uncle... I'm nearly 40

Think its silver but I'm told it might be pewter?
Any off the shelve product recommendations, that I'm likely to find on eBay/Amazon etc.?
Thanks!

Plenty of ideas on Google, using products from the home (vinegar, coke etc).Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0

If it is silver, it will be hallmarked - Your Aunt must be quite a character, a Hip Flask as a present to a baby ? ! !

You must check if it has any marks, usually on the bottom as silver and pewter need different cleaning. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0

Thanks people! So the baking soda made a bit of difference... I think I was expecting a little bit more though if I'm honest?

If I'm reading the bottom of the flask correctly, it says "P.H.V & Co EPNS Made in England "EPNS is electroplated silver on to a nickel silver (an alloy of copper, nickel, and zinc. Zero silver content). The silver plate will be very thin, so don't ever use a metal polish to make it shiny or you will wear it away. An occasional buff with a soft cloth and a thin coating of wax (Renaissance Wax would be ideal if you can get hold of any).
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
