Hi all, I would like to hear your opinion about Movewithus conveyancing company. I have been recommended this company by Mortgage Matters Direct (any opinion on this as well would be appreciated) because apparently you initially pay only a fee of £25 and only when you move in into your new property you have to pay the conveyancing fees. Has anyone have ever dealt with them? I read only negative reviews on trustpilot. Thanks

If you've seen negative reviews, there's your answer.Have you read the small print? I have never heard of a conveyancer who will Complete without first being paid. Immediately before Completion, not after. Are you sure?£25 up front is low - usually it's around £1-200 to cover the disbursements - but frankly neither this, nor the timing of the final payment, really matter. What's more relevant is the overall cost.Or are you saying this is a 'no purchase no fee' contract? Even if the purchase falls through I guarantee you'll be charged for the disbursements - which will exceed £25. And no sale no fee is usually more expensive than a fixed price conveyancing quote where, if the purchase falls through, you are charged for whatever work has been done up to that point.Recommended by Mortgage Matters probably means MM is paid a commission - which will come from you one way or another.Shop around locally and make sure you compare like for like contracts.0
