Fuming with Onetel

Hi, I have the 3.99 a month (evening and weekend tarrif) with this company, used them for years! Was on there website a while back and cos my friend is in dubai for a while thought i would take up the ofer of international calls! SHOCKED when i got my bill as I had been charged for all calls at anytime right through the month, spent 40 mins to a supervisor who said by adding on the international calls that cancels out whatever package you may have with them!!! It doesnt state that on the website, I then also told him I had been charged a LOT from NTL for the call I did make to dubai...guess why? cos i pressed 1471 and redialled the service doesnt work, doesnt mention that either. So this is supposed to be sorted out, then gets a phone call from the debt department of one tel a few days ago asking why I hadnt paid my bill, so they hadnt rectified anything at all and I was still being charged for all calls, plus I was £20 in credit for recommending a friend it should be £40 but they seem to have misplaced that person, so in actual fact tehy owe me money, I have had many lengthy calls and just wrote a stinking email... when I cancel who else can I get this service from any ideas ??? sam >:(

Oh dear Sam you obviously haven't been reading this board for the past month or so or you would have signed up for TalkTalk by now and 18866/1899 for your International calls!

All is not lost regarding future calls if you take a look at TalkTalk Option 1 for free evening and w/end UK calls for the next year with some free mobile calls thrown in and £10 cheque if someone refers you. Please note though that if someone refers you now they get £25 so it would be a good idea if that person split the referral cheque with you.

Check out both 18866 and 1899 for the Internation destination that you require as there are differences. 18866 is 1p connection fee and 1899 3p.

To get free evening and weekend UK calls for the next 12 months, the TalkTalk option to go for now is Talk1+ (the downside is that does not include the free 30 minutes to mobiles though).

Sign up online and there's also a £7.50 cashback if you're a GreasyPalm member.

Neither 1899 or 18866 offer a service to UAE.  The cheapest is Telesavers @ 13p/minute.

http://www.linemypocket.co.uk/ seems to give its members £11 for joining TalkTalk - in addition to the £10 cheque that TalkTalk will send you themselves, if someone is referred (see my signature for details - I must update that post at sometime as well)

    Regards
