Hello,
Has anyone else had a go at building their own retaining sleeper wall/flower bed previously?
Our garden is sloped and after receiving a quote out of our price range we're having a go ourselves. Building retaining wall/flower bed to create a split level garden and new patio area. We're not complete novices but I've got these grand images in my head and just hoping the realty turns out like that!
Wish us luck

My last garden was that very thing; however, it was already done, I didn't do it, sorry.
What I can say though is that it was perfect; it was on 3 levels with the bottom one being the patio/ground level, the next being the lawn with shrubs and small trees around the edge, then the 3rd level was the top, that was a gravelled area with shrubs and small trees around it.
It was held back in place by sleepers and by a drystone wall in another.
Go for it, i'm sure it'll look good.

Important question - How high is this wall likely to be ?If it is massive, there will be a lot of weight behind, and it needs to be very well constructed with good drainage.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
