in Credit cards
Hi!
I just recently applied for a copy of my credit file from Experian and it has 'some' errors on it.
Firstly under the Linked Addresses section, the companies who have done searches have listed my address wrong, some with the wrong post code, some with the wrong address and one which has both of these wrong.
Secondly in the Electoral Roll Information section, my local council has the incorrect Post Code for my previous home. This is for the years 2001 to 2004 ( I didn't get myself listed for a couple of years after, even though I still lived there). My current address is fine.
I am after some advice on how to get all this corrected, it just looks a total mess and now I know why I haven't been able to obtain credit despite having no CJJ's/Defaults.
many thanks!

From the electoral commission websiteIf you are not registered as an elector then you will need to contact the electoral registration office at your local council for the necessary forms. You are not automatically included on the electoral register if you are paying council tax and you need to complete an electoral registration form. If you are not sure who your local council is or how to contact them, you can find their details by visiting https://www.upmystreet.co.uk , typing in your postcode, and clicking the 'contacting your council' heading.
I would guess that to get it sorted, the same department would deal with this. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0
Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110 -
Thank you
I have just called Experian and they said I should send an email stating the mistakes on my file regarding the incorrect post code and also a second email stating the mistakes made by the companies who did the searches and then they will have to make the changes. I think this will take forever!
My worry is that since the electoral role mistakes is for a while back, they may not be able to change it in retrospect.
Seems a right mess, meh.0
