Hi everyone, i recieved a letter from Moriarty Law claiming they have been instructed by Merligen Invesments ltd to recover £400 from me. It also says, the debt of £400 was assigned by Cash on go ltd t/as peachy.co.uk to merligen investments ltd on the 5/3/20. So I've checked on checkmyfile and cash on go is there but it says SF (which i think is satisfied in full) and also says, this is account is satisfied, the payment status has been reported as in default. The letter states if i dont reply in 30 days they will start court proceedings, any advice on whzt to do?

Do you still owe the £400 or did you pay it?0

In all honesty i don't remember, its from 2015 when i lost my job. I had a few things to pay off but from what i remember i did pay everything. On my credit file it says Balance £0 Feb 2017.0

Then if you 'believe' you've paid it send Moriarty Law letter with 'proof of postage' NOT recorded letter saying you believe you have settled this in full and can they send you proof you still owe this amount. Have a look for a 'prove it' template letter and also I'm not 100% sure about putting in your letter you 'believe' you've paid so double check this.0
