Do we pay the balance?

Hi
My son & friends have booked a package to Ibiza, going at the beginning of July.

They've already paid about £200, but the balance of £500 is due at the end of the month.

Is it wise to pay the balance, with the hope they’ll cancel The holiday & get the whole balance back?

If they cancel now they will lose their deposits.

If they pay the balance, then if the tour operator cancel they will be entitled to a refund.  Be aware that a refund is unlikely to be quick - and many tour operators/travel agents are issuing refund vouchers initially, that can become a cash refund later -  sometimes as far in advance as 12 months.
