Thermal movement / cracking /missing expansion joint
Hi, I bought a 15 year old townhouse in January In Newcastle Upon Tyne and today discovered a large number of bricks cracked (around 50 - though most were through the mortar, at least 10 are through the bricks). I had a look around the neighbourhood and saw repairs had been done to my near neighbours (other end of the row). A quick, socially distanced chat with them later and I had a name for the issue - missing expansion joints. They had the same issue 5 years ago. They managed to get it fixed as a latent fault so cost them nothing - what I’m trying to find out how much this will cost me. Has anyone experienced this please?
