Your second link doesn't seem to support that suggestion at all - it's pointing out that SDLT income will inevitably be much lower at current rates. Government will need tax income to pay for more important stuff.0

I wouldn’t have thought so. If you can still afford to complete on a house purchase then you should still be able to afford the fees and SDLT, otherwise you can’t really afford the house.You already have 14 days to complete the return and pay the amount owed.0
