Hi all,
We are a small family with 2 young ones, not been able to go away during 2019 and with everything going on, we are definitely in need. Any tips on bagging some good family-friendly deals at the moment? I know it's uncertain, so we are hoping for end of summer hols/autumn half term dates.

Have a read around threads. You should be ok as long as you avoid the numerous Bob's Travel Shed agencies and book directly with airlines (if flying) and hotels. Too many people have bought from agencies they know nothing about in order to save a few quid and it's bitten them back. Hard.1

I really think you’d be better waiting until the situation is clearer. We don’t even know yet if we’ll be able to travel in the UK, never mind abroad any time this year and it looks as if most travel companies are forcing people to take vouchers or rebook on different dates if their original holidays can’t take place.
I love a holiday bargain, but I’m not booking a thing for now - not even when I could have got next years ski flights for less than £200 for 3 of us, it’s just too uncertain2 -
Yes your definitely in need but what if no one can go abroad tnis year, you will just need to deal with it. Wait until we get any news on when the lockdown restrictions are relaxed so we can travel in he uk or abroad. I suspect alot of people will also be looking for holidays once lockdown is lifted.1

True, this is what my wife is saying. I was just banking on the fact we're all feeling the same and may be a good opportunity to snag a bargain. Agreed, probably too risky at the mo.!jbunduli22 said:I really think you’d be better waiting until the situation is clearer. Not overseas but Haven and Butlins are doing refund gaurantees on all 2020 and 2021 bookings, and there are some really good prices currently for the end of July

Little chance of UK holidays going ahead this summer IMO.0

Once this eases off, I suspect opening up non-essential overseas travel for holidays will be very low down on the priority list.
Even then I expect many countries will keep restrictions and conditions in place that will make travelling a very different experience to that we have been used to.1 -
I have booked flights to Egypt next April for me and the wife with easy jet £120 return with luggage for both of us BargainHi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I agree.Apparently the Czechs are not planning on reopening their borders anytime this year, who know what other countries will decide...
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0
