£75 is a great result.  Take it and party.  (Indoors, obviously.)

An additional search is not a major issue even if you have a very ropey credit history.

Have you checked all of the credit reference agencies? not just one? If there is something lurking in the past - you need to find out what it is. For the moment though, accept the payment.
  • Hi, thank you, I agree about the money, it will come in handy. I only checked on experian as that is what they used and something that was recommended. I thought my score was quite good as well because it is sitting in the green (after a year or so of getting it up there). I think I should just take the money and let it be done as I really do not want anything else (unless they could wipe the search off, which isn't going to happen anyway).

Your score is only seen by you and no one else so don’t worry about it

Where did you get the information from about '2014'?

They said from their second search something came up from 2014. That this is why it was rejected. And to check on Experian but I already have Experian I pay for and there is nothing showing, and my score is excellent.

Nothing under the closed account section?
Your score plays no part in any lending decisions so disregard that altogether.
